This digital multimedia receiver features a 6.95-inch display, built-in wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and supports high-resolution LDAC Bluetooth audio streaming. Intrigued? Let’s take a closer look.

Features of the Sony XAV-AX6000

The Sony XAV-AX6000 is based on a 6.95-inch capacitive-touch display with an anti-glare coating and a bezel-less design that looks right at home in the dash. Buttons for volume and track control, a home button to take you back to the main menu and a voice button to activate your smartphone’s voice recognition features are located just below the display.

The radio includes a high-performance AM/FM tuner with station information display. A USB port allows you to play MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, DSF and DSDIFF digital audio files. The USB port can also be used to charge your smartphone. A Bluetooth transceiver that supports LDAC allows for high-resolution audio streaming performance from an Android smartphone. An HDMI port is available to let you connect your smartphone, a media player or a laptop to watch a video through the system when the vehicle is parked.

Smartphone Connectivity

Sony XAV-AX6000Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity let you maximize the voice recognition capabilities of your smartphone’s digital assistant to make phone calls and dictate text messages. You can request turn-by-turn navigation instructions to almost any address or business in North America using Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. Of course, you can stream from dozens of entertainment options, including Pandora, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Tidal and Audible.

System Connectivity Options

The XAV-AX6000 can drive four speakers with its built-in amplifier, or we can use the 5-volt preamp outputs to add external amplifiers to bring your system to life. The radio has digital signal processing features, including signal delay options for each output, a 14-band graphic equalizer, and high- or low-pass crossovers. We can add an interface to let you use the radio buttons on your car’s steering wheel or go all-out with a Maestro Integration module to allow the radio to communicate with the computers in your vehicle to display engine information and, in some applications, control the heating and air conditioning and even heated seats in your vehicle. The Sony radio also has a backup camera input to help you park safely.

Popular Backup Camera Solutions Available At Ocala Car Audio

Backup Camera SolutionsIf you wish you had eyes in the back of your head, drop by Ocala Car Audio and check out our backup camera solutions. Backup camera systems aren’t just a great idea: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration wants all new vehicles to include a rear-facing camera system. Given the staggering number of accidents and injuries that happen every day, we have to agree. Let’s look into how we can upgrade your safety and the safety of those around your vehicle.

How Does a Backup Camera System Work?

Backup Camera SolutionsBackup camera solutions are relatively simple. We will install a weather-resistant camera on the back of your vehicle. The location is chosen to work in concert with the camera’s wide field of vision to help identify objects that are directly behind or even off to the side of the vehicle.

The secondary part of the system is the display. We offer a wide variety of display solutions and work with each client to find a display option that is easy to use and blends both functionally and cosmetically with their vehicle.

The image from the camera appears on the screen as soon as the transmission is in reverse. There are no additional buttons to press. Day or night, you can see everything behind the vehicle in detail.

Camera Mounting Options

We offer a wide variety of camera mounting and integration solutions for our clients. We have license plate frame mounting brackets and stand-alone mounting solutions for lip and flush-mount applications.

Backup Camera SolutionsIf you own a pickup truck, several of our product partners offer replacement tailgate handles that feature a built-in camera. Likewise, we have third brake light assemblies with integrated cameras for SUVs, vans and trucks. Finally, Jeep Wrangler owners can choose from several mounting options that locate a camera inside the spare tire on the rear door.

Image Display Options

Being able to see the camera image is crucial to the functionality of the system. We have four image display options available for our clients.

  • Aftermarket Source Unit: If we are upgrading your vehicle with a multimedia receiver to add CarPlay or Android Auto, we can easily display the rearview camera image on the color display.
  • Factory Infotainment System: Thanks to companies like VOXX, VAIS, Metra and PAC, we can feed the image from an aftermarket camera to the color display on many factory-installed color screens.
  • Rearview Mirror Display: One of our most popular display options is a new rearview mirror that includes an integrated color LCD screen. When the camera system is off, the mirror looks just like the one that came with your vehicle. Once the camera activates, the image is visible through the mirrored surface.
  • Stand-Alone Monitor: If there are no other options, or you want a large display, we can install a stand-alone screen to display the camera image. We have screen size options from 3.5 inches to more than 10 inches to suit almost any application.

New Driver Safety Products Available At Ocala Car Audio

Driver Safety ProductsDid you know that Ocala Car Audio could enhance your vehicle with the same driver safety products found on high-end and luxury vehicles? We offer blind spot monitoring systems and backup camera solutions that are compatible with almost every car on the road. Let’s look at some of the amazing collision avoidance products we offer.

Backup Camera Systems

It’s no surprise that back-over accidents are frustratingly common. In many vehicles, it’s simply impossible to see objects or people behind us when backing up. These accidents are avoidable with a backup camera system. We can integrate a compact camera into the back of your vehicle, and we carry a variety of options for displaying the image.

Our cameras include systems that integrate with your license plate or mount to the underside of the trunk lip. We have application-specific cameras that replace the tailgate handle on pickup trucks and third brake light assemblies for SUVs. We can display the camera image on many factory-installed color displays or install a new rearview mirror with an integrated screen.

Parking Sensors

Driver Safety ProductsIn the same way a camera system lets you see what’s behind your vehicle, our parking sensor systems provide an audible alert when you are approaching an object. The biggest benefit of a sensor-based system is that you don’t have to remember to look at it. These systems beep faster and faster as you get closer to an object, finally producing a constant tone when you are within about 12 inches. We can even add sensors to the front of your vehicle to let you know when you are getting close to a curb or wall.

Blind Spot Warning Solutions

Wouldn’t it be nice to know if someone was in your blind spot? Our radar-based blind spot monitoring systems illuminate a small icon when someone is driving beside you. If you turn on your turn signal, a buzzer will warn you to look over your shoulder.

We also offer a variety of camera-based blind spot monitoring systems. We can integrate a compact camera into your side-view mirror assembly. When you activate your turn signal, the image from the camera appears on a screen. In many of these systems, we use a new rearview mirror to display images from the camera.

Forward-facing Digital Video Recorders

Driver Safety ProductsHave you ever witnessed an accident and wished that you had been able to record the events leading up to it? Even worse, what if you were involved? We offer a wide selection of compact digital video camera systems that record everything that happens in front of your vehicle. These cameras include built-in accelerometers that record vehicle motion. Many also store location and vehicle speed information using a GPS receiver.

An optional packing mode will record video when the camera detects motion in front of the vehicle. Have you ever wondered which cat has been walking across your hood at night, or if someone has been scoping out your car while you are asleep? Drop by and let us show you some of the different dash cam options we have available.

Expert Vehicle Integration Services

As important as the hardware in these systems is, proper installation plays a key role in determining their effectiveness and reliability. Our team of technicians has more than 150 years of combined experience in working on every type of vehicle imaginable. We plan and execute every installation so the system will be reliable, easy to use and look like it is a part of your vehicle – not an add-on.

A local client came to Ocala Car Audio in search of a backup camera solution for his 2006 Scion XB. The client has done business with us before.

We showed the client a few options for displaying the camera image. We started with a replacement rear view mirror, then showed him a multimedia radio. The Kenwood DDX-9903S offers a dedicated rear view camera input that shows up when the vehicle is put in reverse. This source unit also includes Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The customer loved the added features of the radio and the fact that the camera image would be displayed on a 7-inch screen.

We used an ADS Maestro RR and the TO1 harness to allow the new source unit to display information from the vehicle. The Maestro interface taps into the car’s CAN bus and shows information like tire pressure, battery voltage, coolant temperature, engine RPM and vehicle speed. We mounted an AIS LCCAM1 camera above the license plate.

The customer likes the camera system and loves the new radio.
