Product Spotlight: 3M Crystalline

3M CrystallineOcala Car Audio has been installing 3M Crystalline window film longer than anyone else in Marion County, Florida. When our clients ask for the best window film possible to protect themselves and their vehicles from the harsh Florida sun, Crystalline is always our go-to solution. Keep reading to find out why Crystalline stands out from all other window films in the industry.

The 3M Brand

3M Automotive Window Films are considered the reference from which all other window tinting products are measured. 3M was awarded the first window film patent in 1966, and they have continued to create the most innovative film products to date. 3M stands behind their products with a nationwide warranty. Even if you have moved to California or New York, your investment is protected.

High Visibility and Performance

The 3M Crystalline series of films set the benchmark for IR and UV rejection without the need to be dark. CR70, a film that reduces visible light transmission by only 30%, offers 99% UV rejection and an incredible 97% IR rejection. In most applications, clients barely notice that the film is on the vehicle. Your visibility remains excellent at night, and you are protected.

What does IR Rejection Mean?

Infrared energy from the sun is responsible for heating the planet, our skin and the interior of our vehicles. By blocking up to 97% of the infrared energy and 62% of the total solar energy from the sun, Crystalline films will keep the interior of your car cooler and dramatically reduce the load on your air conditioning system.

Blocks 99% of UV Energy

3M CrystallineOur skin is susceptible to damage by UV energy from the sun. Prolonged exposure can cause blemishes and wrinkling. UV is the leading cause of skin cancer. 3M Crystalline film blocks 99% of the harmful UV energy and acts like a suntan lotion with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of more than 1000.

UV energy is also responsible for material fading. The cloth, vinyl, leather and plastics in your vehicle will continue to look rich and vibrant when it is protected by Crystalline.

Technology Friendly Protection

3M CrystallineCrystalline features more than 200 layers of nanotechnology in a film that is less than the thickness of a Post-It note to protect you and your vehicle. Because there are no metallic substances in the film, your cell phone, satellite radio and GPS navigation systems will continue to work reliably and efficiently.

Experience 3M Crystalline at Ocala Car Audio

Not All Tint Jobs Are Created Equal

Tint JobsOcala Car Audio has a long-standing reputation for providing the finest tint jobs in the area for your car, truck or SUV. Almost every day, we field calls and have conversations with clients about inexpensive tint jobs. The simple reality is you get what you pay for. Follow along as we explore why not all tint jobs are created equal.

Our Tint Jobs Won’t Turn Purple

Tint JobsHave you ever driven up the road and noticed a vehicle with window tint that looks purple? It sure doesn’t look very good. What you are looking at is an inexpensive tint job that used low-quality film in the installation. These cheap, offshore products use low-grade dye to create the smoke color we all love. After it gets exposed to the sun for a few short months, though, the red dye in the tint starts to go bad, and the film turns purple. Film from Ocala Car Audio will never turn purple because we only use color-stable films that are designed to keep their smoke color for years and years.

Bubbles Are a Bad Thing

Tint JobsAnother thing you may have noticed is a vehicle with huge bubbles in the window tint. That is another example of low-quality film going bad. To offer a low price, that vendor used substandard glue to hold the film together. After being exposed to the sun for a while, that film begins to delaminate, creating those nasty bubbles. Our 3M brand film uses the highest-quality construction in the industry, so this will never happen to your vehicle when you choose us.

Darker Tint Doesn’t Mean Better Heat Rejection

Many people think that all they need to do to have a cooler car is buy darker window film. The reality is that the coating on the film makes the single biggest difference in heat reduction. The difference between cheap window tint and our high-performance window tint can be a 70% difference in the amount of heat reduction in your vehicle.

We Have a Dedicated Window Tint Facility

Most inexpensive window tint jobs are done in a parking lot or driveway. That never happens at Ocala Car Audio. We have a dedicated window tint bay that is kept sparkling clean and that we designed for tinting from the ground up. The benefit to you is a finished product that looks better and lasts longer.

Stop In and See Us

We invite you to stop by Ocala Car Audio and get to know us better. Our team will work with you to find the best window tint for your needs. Let us show you why more people in and around Ocala choose us for their window tinting needs, year after year. You can also contact us by clicking HERE.

Repeat Client Gets Mazda RX-8 Audio Upgrade And Accessories For Her New Car

Mazda RX-8 AudioOne of our clients brought this clean 2008 Mazda RX-8 to Ocala Car Audio for a significant audio system upgrade. We had built a system for this client’s RAV4 several years ago. She had been looking for an RX-8 for more than a year and was excited to bring it in for a system and a few accessories once she finally found it.

As always, we ensured that we understood the client’s goals for the system and for the vehicle. She loves music and likes cars, so she wanted a system that sounds great and looks kind of cool at the same time.

Initial Steps A Foundation For Great Sound

We took delivery of the vehicle and removed the factory source unit, door and rear speakers. We ran Memphis Car Audio 17-ETP-21.6 6-channel interconnect cables, a T-Spec V10-RAK4 power wire kit and new speaker wire through the car. Then we treated the doors with a healthy dose of Roadkill sound deadening. The sound deadening not only blocks road and wind noise, but dramatically improves the performance of the door speakers by sealing off openings in the doors.

Kenwood Door Speaker Upgrade

Mazda RX-8 Audio
The large Kenwood woofer was installed in the door using a custom adapter.
Mazda RX-8 Audio
Plenty of sound deadening was applied to the door to maximize the speaker performance.

The factory door speakers are quite large, so we made a set of adapter rings out of expanded PVC foam for Kenwood eXcelon-series XR-1800P 7-inch components. We mounted the tweeters in the stock location at the top of the door. We replaced the rear speakers with a set of Kenwood KFC-X693 in the factory locations.

JL Audio Provides Awesome Bass

Mazda RX-8 Audio
The enclosure utilized a slot-vented port for increased efficiency.

For bass, we fabricated a vented subwoofer enclosure to house a single JL Audio 12W1V3-2 subwoofer. The enclosure sits against the rear seats and the subwoofer fires down. We added a custom logo to the back of the cabinet: an intertwined bass and treble clef. We covered the logo in black vinyl for an embossed look.

Clean JL Audio Power

Mazda RX-8 Audio
Both amplifiers were mounted in the floor of the trunk, protected by a removable cover.
Mazda RX-8 Audio
There is still plenty of usable space available in the trunk of this RX-8

To power the system, we used a pair of JL Audio RD series amplifiers. An RD400/4 powers the front and rear speakers and we used an RD500/1 for the subwoofer. We located the amps in the bottom of the trunk floor. We created a false floor for the trunk and flushed the amps into it. A removable panel covers the amps so she can use the trunk for cargo without risking damage to the amplifiers. We finished the floor and the subwoofer enclosure trim panel in carpet. We used a Stinger SPD570 power distribution block to split the power wire from the battery to the pair of amplifiers.

Upgraded Technology With Pioneer NEX Radio

Mazda RX-8 Audio
The Pioneer NEX radio gives this 2008 model all the latest technology.

In the factory radio location, we installed a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX. She can use her smartphone for music, texting, phone calls and navigation, thanks to CarPlay and Android Auto. A PAC SWI-RC steering wheel control interface allows the factory steering wheel controls to control the new radio.

Add-On Remote Car Starter

The client requested a few other options while we had the car in the shop. We installed a Directed 5X10 security system with remote starter to protect the vehicle. To start the car, all she has to do is push the Lock button on the factory remote control three times in quick succession.

Katzkin Leather Kit Makes Interior Look New

Mazda RX-8 Audio
The combination of textured leather and the carbon fiber pattern give these covers a unique look.

The last step for the interior of the vehicle was to install a set of Katzkin leather seat upgrade kits. The new upholstery is a combination of a classic textured dark-gray leather with a matching carbon fiber textured center section. These kits fit the factory seat foam perfectly without wrinkling.

Lighting And Tint Round Out The Package

Mazda RX-8 Audio
RGB footwell lighting adds to the interior enhancements.
Mazda RX-8 Audio
RGB lighting was used to accent the custom-embossed music insert.
Mazda RX-8 Audio
The seats, radio, tint and lighting all make a dramatic difference for this Mazda.

We installed a Memphis Car Audio LED kit to highlight the footwells and the trunk of the car.  This is an RGB lighting upgrade which allows her to select any color that she desires. We tinted the windows with a premium heat-rejecting Nano Ceramic tint. This window film blocks a majority of the heat from the sun and keeps the interior much cooler. To complete the blacked-out look of the car, we applied Oracle 8300 dark-gray film over the rear taillights.

Client Loved Her New Mazda RX-8 Audio System

The client returned to pick up her car and was blown away by the work we had done. She loved the clean look of the trunk and the custom music note on the back of the enclosure. She hopped in, had a listen to the new system and was smiling from ear to ear.

If you are looking for an upgrade to your audio system, drop by Ocala Car Audio. You can also e-mail us here for more information about any of our products or services.

Advantages Of High-Heat-Rejection Window Tint From Ocala Car Audio

Window TintOcala Car Audio has been a specialist in window tint since our inception. Our goal is to provide the best-value, highest-performing products to our clients at multiple price points.

Many people think all tint is created equal, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Follow along with us as we explore the advantages of buying a high-heat-rejection window tint.

Your Vehicle Will Be Noticeably Cooler in the Florida Summer

We all know it gets hot in the summer in Florida. Think of how often you walk out to your vehicle on a hot summer day and feel a blast of hot air escaping the instant you open the door. Who wants to get in there and drive away? No one. What you are experiencing is called the “greenhouse effect,” where the sun’s infrared heat rays heat up the air inside your vehicle, making it unbearable.

The good news is we can help. Our 3M Color Stable and Crystalline tint were designed from the ground up to reduce the sun’s heat effect on your vehicle dramatically. Here’s an eye-opening fact for you: Our Crystalline tint blocks 70% more heat than a basic film! If you think buying just any window tint is going to make a big difference in heat rejection, you will be sorely disappointed on that first hot day.

Our High-heat-rejection Film Won’t Fade

Window TintWe have all driven along and seen vehicles tinted with what looks like purple film. That film started out looking black and faded over time as the dye inside it went bad from sun exposure. Some of these cheaper films can turn purple in as little as six months. Our Color Stable and Crystalline film isn’t dyed films, so they can’t turn purple. What that means to you is a tint job that looks just as good in three years as the day you bought it.

No Worries about Big Bubble Syndrome

What is Big Bubble Syndrome? Have you ever noticed a tint job that had huge bubbles on it? We call that Big Bubble Syndrome. It happens when someone buys inexpensive window tint and the layers start to separate or delaminate from exposure to the sun. There’s no need to worry about that at Ocala Car Audio since our 3M films are the finest quality on the market and will never delaminate.

Stop In and See Us

The best way to buy window tint is in person. If you come to our shop, that will allow us to get to know you and your needs better and let you feel the difference in heat rejection levels on our interactive display. Let us show you why people all around Ocala choose Ocala Car Audio for their window tinting. You can also contact us by clicking HERE. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

Ocala Dodge Durango Leather and Technology Upgrades

Durango Leather
Durango Leather
Durango Leather
Durango Leather
Durango Leather

This Ocala client was referred to us by Alea Leather for a Dodge Durango leather interior upgrade.  After spending some time with the client, learning more about his new vehicle, we found there were a few more things he wanted to upgrade.

We started with installing the leather package from Alea Leather. The client liked the Police Interceptor aspects of his ride, so we embroidered the headrests with the logo. To give the client many more audio sources, as well as a screen for viewing a backup camera, we installed a Kenwood DNX892HD double DIN touch screen. To enhance his backing safety, we used a VOXX backup camera as well as VOXX parking sensors.

Once we had the interior freshened up, it was time to protect it. First, our window tint experts installed genuine 3M automotive window film on the Durango’s windows. This film will help protect the new interior from UV rays, as well as drastically reduce the interior temperature during these hot Florida summers. To keep the floor looking new, even during the rainy times, we installed a set of WeatherTech floor liners. These trap water and mud, and keep it from damaging the carpet of the vehicle.

With the work completed, we performed our final vehicle checkout, and then handed the keys over to the client. He loved all of the changes we made to his new ride.

If you would like to learn more about how the professionals at Ocala Car Audio can enhance your ride, stop by today or contact us HERE.
