Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Giveaway to help Support our Veterans

Support our VeteransRecently, a disabled Veteran client of Ocala Car Audio was at the shop, and we were talking about ways to support our Veterans. The client is an active member in several Veterans groups including the Wounded Warrior Project. He mentioned an article posted by the US Department of Veteran Affairs that reports an average of 20 Vets die by suicide every day. Frustrated with this information and concerned about how our Veterans are cared for, we came up with a plan to give away a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a local Vet. We sincerely hope that it will lift their spirit and improve their life.

Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Giveaway

Support our VeteransOur founder, Parish Tanner, is an avid biker. He not only owns and rides several Harleys, but he is an avid member of the motorcycle community. The bike is a 1991 Harley-Davidson FLHT that was purchased by Ocala Car Audio. It is being restored and upgraded thanks to the generous product, service and financial support of the following local businesses:

A1 Transmission
Del Zotto Products
First and Last Tab
GradeWorx
Mojos Grill
NPI Property Inspectors
Ocala Car Audio
PaintWorx
Shop 42
The Tilted Kilt Pub
Volthom Electric
Walden Direct Primary Care

The engine and six-speed transmission from a 2007 Street Glide will replace the original unit on the FHLT. The bike will receive a new wiring harness and new paint job to complete the refresh. The FLHT will be given away at the Tilted Kilt Pub at the last bike night of the year on November 3, 2018.

Additional Efforts to Support our Veterans

The bike giveaway is just part of the Ocala community plan to support our Veterans. We are also helping with the restoration and rehabilitation of a 1996 Nissan pickup truck that will be given away to another Veteran at The Mojo Grill and Catering Company on November 12 of this year.

In addition, Walden Direct Primary Care is donating six months of supplemental primary care to two Veterans. While this doesn’t replace the VA, this service makes accessing medical assistance easier and more convenient.

Finally, Ocala Car Audio has implemented a program where we will pay the sales taxes on any purchase Veterans make at our store. When a Veteran comes in, we’ll create a credit line item at the end of their invoice that is equal to the tax they would normally have to pay. All they need to do is show us proof that they are a Veteran. Drop by the store for details.

Passionate About the Ocala Community

Support our VeteransIf you follow Parish on Social Media, it’s clear that he is passionate about Ocala and Marion County. Parish said “Our Vets must be respected and honored, and never discarded or forgotten. They are the men and women who put their lives in harm’s way and allow us to live the lives we do.” If you are interested in our project to support our Veterans through the Harley-Davidson FLHT or Nissan truck giveaway, drop by Ocala Car Audio and speak with Parish or send an e-mail using our contact page.

If you are a Veteran, or a family member of a Veteran in crisis, please call the Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Product Spotlight: Metra 95-HDIF

Metra 95-HDIFIf you own a 1998 through 2013 Harley-Davidson FLH cruiser with the batwing fairing, the new Metra 95-HDIF is now available at Ocala Car Audio to make upgrading your radio easier than ever. This premium inner fairing replacement kit has a high-gloss black finish and provides room for your favorite Double-DIN radio and speakers.

Options for Double-DIN Source Units

Metra 95-HDIFThe 95-HDIF makes upgrading your Harley sound system easier than ever. The stock radio location allows for a Single-DIN radio chassis. While there are many radio options available in that size, they don’t compare to what’s available from a Double-DIN radio.

One of the biggest benefits of upgrading to a Double-DIN radio is the availability of navigation systems. You can plot a route up to Sturgis, Myrtle Beach or Laconia to make your trip safe and efficient. Smartphone Integration solutions like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are another great feature to make your ride safer. Many helmet Bluetooth kits are compatible with these smartphone solutions, so there’s no need to yell at your radio.

Metra 95-HDIF Premium Fairing Kit

The 95-HDIF includes the painted inner fairing, a radio mounting bracket, speaker grilles and rings and all the hardware required to complete the installation. The installation staff at Ocala Car Audio is available to handle the complex process of swapping over all the gauges to the new fairing and completing the radio integration process.

Installation Options and Customization

If you want the Metra 95-HDIF custom painted for your application, let us know — we have lots of contacts for great paintwork. We can also upgrade the speakers and add an amplifier to dramatically improve the clarity, detail and volume capabilities of your motorcycle audio system.

Ocala’s Motorcycle Audio Experts

If you are tired of a wimpy sound system, drop by Ocala Car Audio and speak with a member of our team. We usually have a motorcycle or two on-site with an upgraded audio system that you can audition, and we’d be happy to design a custom solution for your needs and application. Three Steps to Better Sounding Motorcycle Audio

Better Sounding Motorcycle AudioWith the warm weather upon us, now is the time to bring your bike to Ocala Car Audio to talk about building a better sounding motorcycle audio system. Whether you have a classic cruiser or you’re rocking a top-of-the-line CVO Limited, we can make your music sound better and play a lot, lot louder. Let’s look at the three most important steps in making your music sound great on your next ride.

Motorcycle Audio Systems Need Power

Just as it takes extra power to haul you and your 700-pound bike up a steep hill, being able to play your music at volume levels that are distortion-free at highway speeds requires much more than the paltry little amp built into a Boom! Box factory radio. We offer a variety of amplifiers from companies like JL Audio, Memphis Car Audio and Matts Pro Audio that use state-of-the-art Class D circuitry to produce incredible amounts of power while minimizing the load on your bike’s electrical system. We can mount these amplifiers inside most fairings to help maintain the storage space in your saddlebags or Tour-Pak.

With a premium amplifier onboard, your music will stay clear and detailed, even when the volume is cranked to 11!

Speakers Are Crucial to Great Sound

Better Sounding Motorcycle AudioImagine building a drag racing bike with a custom motor and chassis, then picking a touring tire to put that power to the ground. It’s not going to work! Speakers are like tires — they are what connects you to your music. Premium speakers can handle incredible amounts of power while continuing to sound great. Our upgraded speakers also happen to sound amazing. Your music will be more detailed and accurate at all volume levels.

In most cases, we have speakers that will fit directly into the factory speaker locations without the need for modification to your motorcycle. Our team of expert installers can also create custom installation solutions if you want to add speakers to your fairing or rear storage compartments.

Upgrade Your Source Unit for More Features

If you have an older motorcycle, then upgrading the source unit is a great way to create a better sounding motorcycle audio system. We carry a variety of source units that include Bluetooth audio streaming and USB ports to play MP3 and WMA files. Some will let you connect your iPhone or Android-based smartphone to provide nearly unlimited listening options while you ride.

Expert Installation by Ocala Car Audio

Better Sounding Motorcycle AudioWhether you need a set of replacement speakers or a full custom audio system, our team of technicians is available to work on your bike. Not only do our guys do great work, but they treat your motorcycle like royalty. Your paint and brightwork are protected at all times, and when we return your bike, it will be in perfect condition, but with better tunes!

Product Spotlight: Kenwood KAC-M3004

Kenwood KAC-M3004When it comes to great amplifiers that fit in small spaces, Ocala Car Audio is fond of the Kenwood KAC-M3004. This four-channel amplifier is rated to produce 50 watts of power per channel when connected to a four-ohm load. It features a compact 6-1/2 by 3-7/8-inch footprint that makes it ideal for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, marine and automotive applications. Let’s take a close look at the features of this great little amplifier.

Kenwood KAC-M3004 Specifications

As we mentioned, the KAC-M3004 is a 50 watt per channel amp. The amp produces 75 watts per channel when loaded to two ohms and can be configured as a two-channel amp that produces 150 watts per channel into a four-ohm load. The M3004 uses efficient Class D circuitry to maximize the power from the vehicle electrical system and extend playtime with the engine off.

Amplifier Layout and Controls

The KAC-M3004 has a terminal block on the right end-panel for power and ground connections. It features a Molex connector with the four pairs of speaker wires. Two sets of nickel-plated RCA input jacks are located on the opposite end of the amp. To the right of the jacks are input sensitivity controls that allow us to match this amplifier with source units that produce anywhere from 0.2 to 5 volts of output on the preamp. To the left of the jacks are two potentiometers that adjust the built-in high- and low-pass electronic crossovers.

Compact Amplifier Applications

Kenwood KAC-M3004One of our most popular application for the Kenwood KAC-M3004 is in the fairing of a motorcycle. When bridged to a pair of high-quality speakers, the 150 watts of power are a perfect solution to ensure your music is produced with clarity, even at high volume levels. Kenwood has constructed this amp for marine and outdoor applications. This includes a corrosion-resistant coating on the circuit board and protective covers for the controls to help keep dust out.

If you are in the market for a great amplifier that can fit in very small spaces, drop by Ocala Car Audio and ask about the KAC-M3004 from Kenwood. You can also reach us by e-mail using our contact form for more information about our Kenwood amplifiers.

Motorcycle Audio Amplifiers Make Your 2-Wheel Audio Come Alive

Motorcycle Audio AmplifiersMotorcycle audio amplifiers from Ocala Car Audio are the key to enjoying your music at realistic volume levels. Factory-installed stereo systems are typically a balance of size and cost, designed to keep casual listeners content. For people who truly enjoy their music, factory audio systems rarely provide the accuracy, details and volume capabilities to impress. Our staff members aren’t just audio fanatics; we love motorcycles as well. Let’s look at how an amp can breathe new life into the sound system on your bike.

Power Is the Key

Let’s look at a new Harley-Davidson Road Glide – its 107-cubic-inch engine can produce 111 lb-ft of torque at roughly 3,200 rpm. If you weigh around 200 pounds, this power is pretty good and will accelerate the bike nicely. What happens when you have a friend on the back and the saddlebags are loaded? Suddenly the 1,050-pound bike is more like 1,300. Pulling out to pass or merging on the interstate isn’t the same. The solution? You need more power.

When it comes to reproducing music, two factors limit how loudly the system can play: amplifier power and speaker design. In most cases, you run out of power first. You’ll know when this happens because the sound from your stereo becomes garbled and distorted. The only way to fix this is to add an amplifier. We offer compact amplifiers that will fit comfortably inside the fairing, saddlebag or Tour Pak and provide three to four times as much power as the factory source unit.

The Benefits of Motorcycle Audio Amplifiers

Motorcycle Audio AmplifiersWith a properly configured amplifier on your bike, you can turn the volume up without distortion. Your music will be clearer, louder and much more dynamic. Drums and bass guitars will have more impact. Vocals will be crisp and detailed. The difference is quite impressive!

If you want to take the performance of your system even further, upgrade the speakers on your motorcycle as well. New speakers can handle more power, play louder and produce a lot less distortion. Speakers are easily one of the most important components in any audio system. Without great speakers, even the best source unit and amplifier in the world will sound mediocre.

Expert Installation by Ocala Car Audio

As we mentioned above, proper amplifier configuration is essential to the performance of the audio system. Our team of expert technicians has installed thousands of amplifiers in cars, trucks, boats and motorcycles. They have the training and tools required to make these amps sound great. Even plug-and-play kits require some configuration – if you aren’t familiar with the process, you may end up with a system with a lot of background noise or one that doesn’t play as loudly as it could.

Upgrade Your Motorcycle Today!

If you are in Marion County, drop by Ocala Car Audio and speak with a member of our sales team about our motorcycle audio amplifiers and speakers. We usually have several employee bikes onsite that you can audition. Our team will take the time to understand your goals and provide you with an upgrade solution that works with your budget. Motorcycle Audio Installation is Best Left to the Experts

Motorcycle Audio InstallationWhen it comes to motorcycle audio installation, Ocala Car Audio in Marion County is an expert. Installing and modifying motorcycle sound systems has been a way of life for the staff at Ocala for nearly a decade. Owner Parish Tanner grew up riding motorcycles. In fact, his entire family rides whenever they get a chance. We don’t just talk about motorcycle audio; we live it.

Premium Motorcycle Audio Products

Motorcycle Audio InstallationOur experience in designing and installing motorcycle audio upgrades is an extension of our marine audio system experience. The vibration and sound level challenges are similar in both applications. Obviously, motorcycles offer significantly less space for speakers and equipment. Our team has tried most of the solutions available and knows what speakers and amplifiers work to deliver amazing sound, even when the throttle is cranked wide open. Our motorcycle audio products can handle sun exposure and harsh vibrations from the biggest engines. They shrug off rain, dust and dirt. We have high-power amplifiers that are compact and efficient, and our speaker upgrades can handle the power from that new amplifier so you can crank your system and enjoy it for hours.

Expert Installation and Integration Services

The materials and techniques we use to upgrade the audio system on your motorcycle are as important as the products we choose. Wiring, fasteners, connectors and harnesses all need to provide the same level of performance and reliability we expect from speakers, amplifiers and source units. How we make electrical connections, route wiring and even the way we protect the finish on your bike are carefully planned to ensure your upgrade experience brings you countless hours of trouble-free entertainment.

Full-Time Mobile Electronics Specialists

Motorcycle Audio InstallationOne topic that comes up frequently with our motorcycle clients are the audio upgrades that can be purchased and installed at shows throughout the year. Both the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Daytona Bike Week see vendors from all over the country celebrating every aspect of the motorcycle culture. We see many “pop-up” retailers selling and installing sound system upgrades at the shows. While some of these systems perform well, some are mediocre. Our biggest concern is after-sales service. If you have a problem with anything we’ve installed, you can call the shop and we’ll schedule an appointment to resolve the issue. If you’ve purchased speakers or an amplifier at the show, where will you go if you need help? Some show vendors go so far as to relabel products under their name. These modifications void the warranty on those units. We service what we sell.

Ocala’s Motorcycle Audio Installation Experts

When it’s time to upgrade the sound system on your bike, drop into Ocala Car Audio and speak with one of our motorcycle audio installation experts. We would be happy to demonstrate the systems on our bikes and develop a custom solution for your cruiser. From a new set of speakers in a fairing or saddlebag to custom speaker pods on your highway bars, our team will ensure your music sounds great at any reasonable speed. You can call us at 352-512-9897 or send us an e-mail using our online contact FORM at any time for answers to questions about our products and services. We look forward to hearing from you!

Ocala Client Upgrades Her Harley-Davidson Road Glide Audio System

Road Glide Audio

A client from Ocala brought her 2016 Harley-Davidson Road Glide to Ocala Car Audio for an audio system upgrade. She and a few friends planned a cross-country ride and she wanted the audio system upgraded before she left. This bike has the navigation system that was introduced with Project Rushmore. There is no value in replacing the radio, so we suggested adding an amplifier and new speakers to handle the power. She loved the plan, so we scheduled an appointment.

We took the front fairing apart and installed a Kenwood KAC-M3004 in a bridged configuration to power the front speakers. This amp, wired this way, produces up to 150 watts to each speaker. To handle that power, we installed a set of Hertz HCX-165.4 6.5-inch coaxial speakers from the Hi-Energy line. We set the gains up on the amp to ensure the client could turn the radio up without the system distorting.

When the client returned to pick up the bike, she hopped on for a listen. The difference in performance from the anemic factory speakers was like night and day. There was more clarity and a lot more volume.
