A longtime Harley rider recently dropped by Ocala Car Audio to learn about the Can-Am Spyder SlamPak solution from JL Audio. Having ridden bikes with her husband for years, this client decided she wanted to try out the three-wheeled Spyder. Since she was accustomed to having a sound system on her cruiser, she came to see us to find out what audio upgrades were available. The SlamPak audio system is the perfect solution for this vehicle. Let’s take a close look at what the kit includes.
Can-Am Spyder SlamPak Solution
The JL Audio SLPK-CAN-SPYDER1 SlamPak for 2007 through 2016 Can-Am Spyder three-wheelers includes a pair of aerodynamic fiberglass speaker pods, a Stealthbox subwoofer enclosure and a four-channel amplifier, along with all the wiring we need to install the system.
The fiberglass SB-CAN-PODS1-M770 enclosures mount on either side of the center console and position the M770-TCX-SG-TB 7.7-inch marine component speaker set directly facing the client. The 7.7-inch speakers offer an excellent balance of low-frequency output and efficiency to ensure that her music will sound great at any reasonable speed.
The Stealthbox enclosure is home to a single 8-inch 8W3v3-4 subwoofer in a sealed fiberglass cabinet. The enclosure mounts in the forward storage compartment and provides an impressive amount of bass, given its compact size.
JL Audio Powersports Amplifier Solution

The SlamPak system also includes an XD400/4 amplifier that can produce up to 75 watts of power for each of the speaker pods and 200 watts for the subwoofer. We mounted the amplifier on top of the enclosure and fed it power through a JL Audio marine-grade circuit breaker. As you can see from the attached photos, all the wiring is bundled neatly using an automotive-grade cloth tape, and we added heavy-duty rubber grommets where the wiring passes into the storage area.
A JL Audio MBT-RX Bluetooth receiver allows the client’s smartphone to serve as the source unit for the system. She can play music that is stored on the phone or stream from her choice of online services directly to the amplifier. The volume control on the phone acts as the master volume control for the system.
Ocala’s Powersports Audio Upgrade Experts

The last installation step was to configure the crossovers and sensitivity controls on the amp for the chosen speakers and source unit. The client was thrilled with the sound of her new Can-Am Spyder SlamPak audio system. It’s incredibly easy to use and fits the vehicle perfectly! With the warm weather upon us, now is the time to bring your bike to Ocala Car Audio to talk about building a better sounding
Imagine building a drag racing bike with a custom motor and chassis, then picking a touring tire to put that power to the ground. It’s not going to work! Speakers are like tires — they are what connects you to your music. Premium speakers can handle incredible amounts of power while continuing to sound great. Our upgraded speakers also happen to sound amazing. Your music will be more detailed and accurate at all volume levels.
Whether you need a set of replacement speakers or a full custom audio system,
An upgraded
No single component in an audio system is more important than your speakers. You could have the best source unit, amazing amplifiers and a cool installation. But, if your speakers aren’t up to the challenge, the performance of the entire system will suffer. We offer marine speakers from JL Audio, Memphis Audio and Kenwood that are specifically designed for outdoor use. They are designed to perform in applications with high-levels of UV exposure. These speakers feature materials that resist chalking, yellowing, fading, and cracking, even after years outdoors.
Marine amplifiers differ in construction from their car audio brethren in the materials they use inside the chassis. Aluminum extrusions and cover plates, and stainless-steel terminals and hardware ensure that these amplifiers won’t corrode in the high-humidity environment of a boat. The majority of marine amplifiers feature a corrosion-resistant coating on the circuit boards that prevent moisture from corroding the fragile connections.
When it comes to great amplifiers that fit in small spaces, Ocala Car Audio is fond of the Kenwood KAC-M3004. This four-channel amplifier is rated to produce 50 watts of power per channel when connected to a four-ohm load. It features a compact 6-1/2 by 3-7/8-inch footprint that makes it ideal for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, marine and automotive applications. Let’s take a close look at the features of this great little amplifier.
One of our most popular application for the Kenwood KAC-M3004 is in the fairing of a motorcycle. When bridged to a pair of high-quality speakers, the 150 watts of power are a perfect solution to ensure your music is produced with clarity, even at high volume levels. Kenwood has constructed this amp for marine and outdoor applications. This includes a corrosion-resistant coating on the circuit board and protective covers for the controls to help keep dust out.

Motorcycle audio amplifiers from Ocala Car Audio are the key to enjoying your music at realistic volume levels. Factory-installed stereo systems are typically a balance of size and cost, designed to keep casual listeners content. For people who truly enjoy their music, factory audio systems rarely provide the accuracy, details and volume capabilities to impress. Our staff members aren’t just audio fanatics; we love motorcycles as well. Let’s look at how an amp can breathe new life into the sound system on your bike.
With a properly configured amplifier on your bike, you can turn the volume up without distortion. Your music will be clearer, louder and much more dynamic. Drums and bass guitars will have more impact. Vocals will be crisp and detailed. The difference is quite impressive!
When it comes to motorcycle audio installation, Ocala Car Audio in Marion County is an expert. Our experience in designing and installing
One topic that comes up frequently with our motorcycle clients are the audio upgrades that can be purchased and installed at shows throughout the year. Both the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Daytona Bike Week see vendors from all over the country celebrating every aspect of the motorcycle culture. We see many “pop-up” retailers selling and installing sound system upgrades at the shows. While some of these systems perform well, some are mediocre. Our biggest concern is after-sales service. If you have a problem with anything we’ve installed, you can call the shop and we’ll schedule an appointment to resolve the issue. If you’ve purchased speakers or an amplifier at the show, where will you go if you need help? Some show vendors go so far as to relabel products under their name. These modifications void the warranty on those units. We service what we sell.
